Post Forum Rules
Welcome to Debate and Relate.

There are no micromanaging control freak moderators at Debate and Relate. That wouldn't look nice.

The usual parry, thrust and cut debating style remains a well known cornerstone of this board. As does our brusque humour. Lets practice debate here with a craftsmanship that is befitting of our inharmonious heritage.

Debate and Relate has one moderator for the entire board, and that's me, Jack Doolan. My word is final here. Now, being moderator means I'm usually always out of work and waiting for the phone to ring. Or the radio to crackle if I'm on walkabout. Lets keep me out of work, please.

Forum Rules & Regulations:

1) No threatening, obscene, vulgar, or sexually explicit/suggestive comments or images are permitted in your posts, avatars or signatures. Do not place images in signatures. Text in signatures only.

1a) Don't use the munt word here, or censored/abbreviated/bowdlerised variations of it. "Cock", "fuckwit", "fuckstick" "fucker" "motherfucker" "fuckhead" and the like and their variations and abbreviated/censored (no matter how cleverly abbreviated, bowdlerised or censored) forms are also unwelcome words here.

1b) Now, the word "fuck", and "fuck off" has historically been allowed here. However, use "fuck" and "fuck off" sort of sparingly. The owners have no intention of allowing the board to become a toilet bowl of expletives. So be scrimpy spending your "fuck/fuckoff" account. Use of "fuck/fuckoff" squanderingly will get my attention.

2) Common courtesy and "net-iquette" applies here. Don't abuse the font color or size options, avoid typing in ALL CAPS, avoid habitual "txt" style typing and don't abuse the private-messaging facility. Basically, if I see a pattern in your posts over time, whether intentional or not, you will get my attention.

3) As moderator I reserve the right to lock, edit, move, or delete any material that violates the rules or in any way disrupts the posting environment that the owners are trying to support and preserve here. This includes disrupting the forum with posts containing potentially libelous material.

4) As moderator I reserve the right to ban or suspend any member without notice or explanation, that violates the rules or in any way disrupts the posting environment that the owners are trying to support and preserve here.

5) Forum members must restrict themselves to one user account.

6) Members that habitually make posts containing inflammatory messages or bait with little or no legitimate content or posts that habitually do not add to the debate will get my attention. Again, if I see a pattern in your posts over time, whether intentional or not, you will get my attention.

7) Do not make posts that "backseat moderate" this forum. Back-seat moderating is making posts that contend my job, methods or my decisions, or posts that prescribe that action be taken by myself on some issue or other.

8 ) Do not post another's private messages or another's personal information, or personal information derived/contained in private messages, in the forums, without permission from that person.

If you want an idea of what NOT to do around here, just review some of the posts here: http://www.debaterelate.com/phpBB2/viewforum.php?f=6

The Billabong:

The board's rules (except language) are "somewhat" relaxed in the Billabong due to its non-debate status.
